Student Poster Competition Application
Purpose of the Program
The National Slag Association (NSA) will select eight (8) students to present technical posters at the 2026 Annual Meeting. This program highlights emerging research, innovative applications, and student contributions related to slag technology, sustainability, materials science, and industrial co-products.
Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate) at an accredited institution during the 2025–2026 academic year
-
Be conducting research or a project related to Iron and Steel Slag

Have faculty advisor support (letter required)
Poster Topic Requirements
Posters must:
-
Present original research, case studies, or applied innovation
-
Demonstrate relevance to the iron and steel slag industry or its applications
-
Include technical depth appropriate for an industry audience
-
Clearly explain real-world implications or benefits
Projects may be:

Experimental research
-
Modeling/simulation
-
Field application studies
-
Product development
-
Sustainability or lifecycle analysis
